Sensor underwear

Training with regular underwear

I can do it all by myself—no complicated fiddling.” (Laura, 10 years old)

Super easy to put on.” (Max, 8 years old)

Washable in the washing machine at 40°C.” (Max’s mother)

The base is a comfortable pair of underwear.

The Pjama and Liberty alarms work with normal-looking underwear that has built-in moisture sensors. The sensor underwear looks just like regular underwear—and is designed differently for girls and boys, as the sensors are placed where they respond most reliably.

Why sensor underwear is so important (instead of a sensor mat or clip)

1. Faster response = better learning

The biggest advantage is the very short reaction time: even a small amount of urine is enough to trigger the alarm. With a sensor mat or a sensor clip, it often takes longer for enough fabric to get wet—sometimes the child has to lose significantly more urine.

And this is crucial for training: the earlier the alarm goes off, the better the child connects the feeling of a “full bladder” with waking up. This way, they can get to the toilet faster and empty the rest of their bladder there.

2. More independence and less “fiddling” Sensor underwear is easier for children in everyday life:

  • put on like normal underwear

  • change independently at night

  • no attaching clips, no slipping, no messing with foil or bandages

This promotes independence—and also relieves parents.

3. Better for self-confidence Many children see sensor underwear as more “normal” than diapers or pads. This can strengthen self-esteem and help keep the child motivated.

4. Comfortable and easy to care for The sensor underwear fits comfortably and the transmitter sits reliably on the body. They’re also practical for everyday life: washable up to 40°C.

With both purchase and rental, each set comes with 2 sensor underwear. We also recommend using only one alarm per night during training. Using multiple alarms in one night often makes the child too tired—and this can negatively affect training success.

This means: use only one sensor underwear per night. If you would still like to purchase an additional pair of sensor underwear, you can find them in our shop.
