Pjama Connect daytime alarm

Pjama Connect daytime alarm
Ideal for children with daytime incontinence problems. The Pjama Connect is a pocket-sized sensor that connects to the DryGuardian app via Bluetooth. The smartphone serves as the alarm device: as soon as the sensor pad detects wetness, the child is notified immediately.

Use: With panty liners, diaper pants, or absorbent underwear.

The set includes:

A pocket-sized sensor

You will also need:

  1. A smartphone for the app or the separate Pjama receiver

  2. A panty liner, diaper pants, or absorbent pyjama underwear

The alarm can be used in three different ways.

1. Sanitary pads / panty liners with your own underwear

Use a lightly padded panty liner. Cut it open on one side and slide the sensor inside with the strip side facing upwards. This strip side detects the moisture. Stick the panty liner into your child’s underwear in the spot that usually gets wet first. As soon as the child urinates, the alarm will go off. Then go to the toilet together with your child and encourage them to finish urinating there. The panty liner can easily be replaced and is the most cost-effective option for training.

Advantages:

  • A sanitary pad is a simple solution

  • The liner absorbs moisture immediately, so the child’s outer clothing does not need to be changed

  • It is a cost-effective solution

  • The liners can simply be disposed of

Note:

  • You need to prepare the liner yourself

2. Diaper pants

You can also use the alarm with diaper pants. This can be practical in cases of larger urine loss – especially if your child is not yet dry during the day.

Advantages:

  • Larger amounts of urine are absorbed

  • The child’s clothing stays dry during training

  • The diaper pants can simply be disposed of after use

Note:

The sensor is positioned slightly less precisely in the diaper, so more urine needs to be released before the alarm goes off.

3. With absorbent Pjama underwear

3. Absorbent underwear
The Sensor Connect can be combined with Pjama underwear, which already has a practical pocket integrated for the sensor. The underwear can be worn during the day at school to catch accidents. At home, the sensor can be added so that your child can train in a safe environment.

Advantages:

  • Reliably protects against leakage and odour during the day – classmates will not notice anything

  • No preparation needed – the pocket is already integrated

  • Reusable and washable

  • When changing clothes, your child feels just as confident as everyone else

  • Partially reimbursed by health insurance

Note:
This option is more expensive, but part of the cost may be reimbursed by health insurance. See our prescription information.

Pjama underwear absorbs more moisture than other incontinence underwear and is therefore marked with 3 drops. In the table below, you can see how much each size can absorb.
The underwear and the sensor are available separately or as a value set.

Training with the Apollo 24 alarm

Training with the Connect alarm

Step 1: Download the DryGuardian app and enter your details. Turn on Bluetooth – the sensor will connect to the app automatically. Choose an alarm tone together with your child. You can test the sensor in advance by dripping a little water onto the strip side or holding a damp cloth against it. This allows your child to hear the alarm and know what to expect.

Step 2: Choose one of the 3 options for using the sensor. Let your child practise at home in a safe environment. Place the smartphone in a central spot in the room where your child is playing. As soon as urine gets into the underwear, the alarm will go off. This makes your child aware of it and should trigger them to tighten the bladder sphincter reflexively.

Step 3: Your child should then go to the toilet and empty their bladder completely. Afterwards, dry underwear should be put on.

Step 4: Record the daily result in the app’s scorecard. Within a few weeks, positive progress should become visible.
