Liberty bedwetting alarm

We offer you 2 different alarms for purchase. Health insurance does not reimburse the cost of purchasing alarms. However, some insurers reimburse part of the cost through supplementary insurance. We recommend clarifying this with your insurer in advance.

All alarms are supplied complete with 2 sensor briefs, so you can get started right away. The two alarm systems differ as follows:

The Liberty bedwetting alarm

Bedwetting is annoying, but with the Liberty bedwetting alarm you can be sure that you approach your training in the most engaging way possible. The alarm offers a choice of 10 different alarm sounds. There is bound to be one that is both amusing and annoying enough to make you want to switch it off as quickly as possible. Because that is the goal of the training. Some studies also show that it can be useful to change the alarm sound from time to time during training. With the Liberty, this is very easy to do.

How does the bedwetting alarm work?

The Urifoon alarm consists of a transmitter and a receiver. It also includes 2 colourful pairs of pants. These pants look and feel like normal underwear, but they have sensor threads built into the crotch area that quickly detect urine. You can connect the transmitter by attaching it to the waistband of the pants.

You place the receiver next to the bed. If your pants become wet during the night, the alarm goes off immediately. The faster you respond, the less urine you lose. You will learn very quickly — you’ll see!

The transmitter

The orange transmitter is small and lightweight. You can easily attach it to the press studs on your pants. During the day, you attach it to the receiver next to your bed. This also has two press studs. In this way, the transmitter charges while you are at school and is ready to use again in the evening when you need it.

This also gives the transmitter a fixed place, so it cannot get lost.

The sensor pants

The sensor pants look just like your regular underwear. They are comfortable to wear and therefore very easy to put on. The pants are ready to use immediately, so you can start training right away. The underwear is machine washable and available in cheerful colours and patterns for boys and girls.

Benefit from both the audible alarm and the vibration alarm.

A vibration alarm (Vibes) offers an alternative for people with hearing impairment or for deep sleepers. The alarm sound can be adjusted and can also be used with the vibration alarm. Both can be set independently of each other. It gives the child an extra “nudge” to wake up. It is ideal for several children sharing a bedroom, as the sound can be partially or completely switched off. It is also practical for older children who prefer to train independently over time. The Vibes is not attached to the child, but placed under the pillow or mattress.

Special features of the system

  • The basis is a comfortable pair of pants!

  • At night, the child can easily and independently change the pants just like regular underwear. The child no longer wears a diaper or pad. This is important for self-confidence during training.

  • The sensor pants have a perfect fit and are comfortable to wear. As a result, the transmitter fits closely to the body. They are very child-friendly and come in fun colours for girls and boys.

  • The transmitter is very small and lightweight, making it comfortable to wear on the pants. It offers the user optimal comfort and normal freedom of movement during sleep.

  • The bedwetting alarm is wireless. The child does not have to wear an uncomfortable device on the body and is not disturbed by a cable while sleeping. The alarm can easily be switched off via the touchscreen. The alarm volume can be adjusted individually. Parents/helpers can hear whether the user responds immediately to changes in the alarm.

  • In addition, a vibration alarm can be added for children with hearing impairment or very deep sleep. The alarm can be set to sound or vibrate independently, which is ideal for several children sharing a bedroom.

Bladder training

Many children do not drink enough during the day. Children often think, “If I drink less, I won’t have to go to the toilet as often.” In itself a clever thought, but ... the less you drink, the smaller the bladder becomes.

In most children with bedwetting, bladder capacity is too low. If the bladder is too small and cannot stretch well, it can only store a small amount of urine. As a result, bedwetting happens early in the night. Many children find it difficult to drink a lot, which makes the problem worse because their bladder becomes even smaller.

Drinking bottle

That is why we offer drinking training. When renting or purchasing an alarm device, we give every child a fun drinking bottle in cheerful colours. The bottle is transparent, so the child can clearly see how much they have drunk during the day.

The child can take this bottle to school, to sports activities, and outside to play.

In the training manual, we try to explain the function of the bladder to the child in a playful way using a balloon. We also give recommendations on how much the child should ideally drink each day.

Personal guidance

The bedwetting alarm is not a cure, but a training method that helps the child gain full control of the bladder sphincter even during sleep. It is important that the child is motivated to overcome bedwetting. This training can be especially intensive and requires teamwork between the caregiver and the user.

We provide you with a training book containing practical tips for the training. From experience, we know that the first month in particular can be very demanding. That is why we are happy to support you personally during this difficult period.

Our experience shows that a motivated child, with the right guidance, can complete the training much better and more quickly.
