Why wash at 40°C and not at 60°C?

The incontinence briefs can be washed at 40 to a maximum of 60°C. However, it is better to limit the temperature to 40°C. The reason for this is the special absorbent insert in the pants. At excessively high temperatures, this special layer can clump together and no longer feel evenly distributed. Its absorbency may also be reduced. In case of heavy soiling, you can pre-treat the underwear with a stain-removal spray.

Is 40°C enough?

Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary to always wash underwear at 60°C. In the past, this was the standard, but today this is no longer the case. Modern detergents are strong enough to clean perfectly even at lower temperatures. In addition, washing too hot causes your underwear to wear out more quickly.

Although 40°C is sufficient to get your underwear clean, bacteria in the underwear are not killed at this temperature. It is therefore advisable to wash your underwear at 60°C from time to time. Can you not wash your underwear at 60°C? Then place it in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for a few days. The cold will kill the bacteria.

Incontinence underwear for children/adults

The incontinence briefs can be washed at 40 to a maximum of 60 degrees. It is better to keep the temperature limited to 40 degrees. They can be washed in the washing machine or by hand.

  • Wash the underwear inside out.

  • Wash at 40 degrees.

  • Pre-treat stubborn stains with a stain remover.

  • Do not use chlorine bleach or fabric softener.

  • Set the iron to delicate.

  • Tumble dry on the lowest temperature, but they keep their shape better without a dryer.

Please note the following points when using the product:

  • Preferably do not use liquid detergent. Using too much detergent and/or fabric softener has a negative effect on the sensitivity of the sensor underwear and therefore on the alarm signal.

  • Do not dry the sensor underwear on a hot radiator and do not wring it out. Please do not iron it either.

  • Remove the transmitter from the sensor underwear immediately after the alarm goes off. This extends the battery life and prevents the transmitter from being washed accidentally.

Washing the transmitter in the washing machine is not covered by the warranty.

Sensor underwear comes with a 3-month warranty.
